Hotshots Basketball Academy serves Pembroke Pines families with professional youth basketball training, AAU travel teams, and seasonal camps.
Our practice facility at Regional Park in Weston is about 10–20 minutes from most of Pembroke Pines — north on I-75 to Griffin Road — which keeps weeknight practices realistic for families coming from Chapel Trail, Pembroke Falls, Pembroke Lakes, and the Pines Boulevard corridor.
We train boys and girls ages 10 through 18 in small-group sessions designed to build real skills, not just run drills. If you’re searching for basketball training or a Pembroke Pines youth basketball program, here’s what to know before you enroll.
What Pembroke Pines Players Get at Hotshots
Pembroke Pines is one of the largest cities in Broward County, and the youth basketball options reflect that: crowded rec leagues, open gyms, and one-off clinics. Consistent skill development requires weekly repetition with coaches who actually watch every rep.
Our training program runs Monday through Thursday, 5:00–9:00 PM at Regional Park. Players train in age-grouped sessions with a consistent coaching staff — no rotating guest trainers. The work is broken into four buckets:
- Fundamentals — dribbling, shooting mechanics, footwork, passing under pressure. The stuff that wins games in the fourth quarter.
- Position-specific development — guards work handle and finishing, wings work shot mechanics and off-ball movement, posts work sealing and touch around the rim.
- Basketball IQ — reading screens, help defense, offensive spacing. The game slows down when a player knows where to be.
- Pressure reps — drills where the last 30 seconds have consequences, so players learn to perform under stress before a real game forces them to.
Two Tracks: Training vs. Travel Basketball
Pembroke Pines parents usually arrive with one of two goals, and we keep the programs separate so families choose the right commitment level:
Basketball Training is our monthly skill-development program. No tournament travel, no weekend commitment, no tryout. Best for players who want to get better without the logistics of a travel team. Enroll in training →
Travel Basketball (AAU) is our competitive tournament team. We play a Spring/Summer AAU season (March–June) and a Fall/Winter season, with open tryouts every September. Weekend tournaments across Florida and the Southeast. Best for players who want game-speed competition and exposure. Sign up for travel tryouts →
Driving from Pembroke Pines to Practice
Our practice courts are at Regional Park Basketball Courts, 20200 Saddle Club Road, Weston, FL 33327. From most of Pembroke Pines, the drive is 10–20 minutes depending on where you live:
- From Chapel Trail or Pembroke Falls — ~10 minutes via I-75 N
- From Pembroke Lakes or the Pines Blvd / Flamingo Rd area — ~15 minutes via Pines Blvd and I-75 N
- From east of Palm Avenue or the Hollywood Blvd corridor — ~20 minutes via Pines Blvd or Sheridan St and I-75 N
Most Pembroke Pines families pick weeknight practice slots that avoid the 5 PM rush hour; we can help you choose a session time that works for your commute.
Who We Train
We draw Pembroke Pines players from across the local school community — Charles W. Flanagan High, West Broward High, Pembroke Pines Charter High, Silver Trail Middle, and Walter C. Young Middle — as well as middle schoolers getting serious about basketball before high school tryouts. Our program is age-grouped, so your player trains with peers at the same developmental stage, not mixed into a general session.
